Ammon News - A drug dealer was given a life sentence because he relapsed into the drug trade just months after completing a 15-year prison term and returning home, and was eventually caught smuggling 70,000 Fenethylline pills into the Kingdom.
The drug dealer's partner in crime was sentenced to ten years in prison by the State Security Court (SSC). In addition to their prison terms, both offenders were ordered to pay fines totaling JD30,000.
Since the second defendant is a repeat offender, the court reasoned that it was within its discretion to impose the maximum sentence without regard to mitigating circumstances in order to protect society from this scourge and to serve as a deterrent to others who might be tempted to engage in similar conduct.
