Ammon News - Foreign Minister, Ayman Safadi, expressed Jordan's condolences and solidarity with Turkish people following the earthquake that recently hit their country.

"We stand with our brothers with all our capabilities, and under the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah, we will provide all forms of support to our brothers in these difficult circumstances until the impacts of this ordeal are overcome," Safadi said in a meeting with his Turkish counterpart, Mevlut Cavusoglu in Ankara on Wednesday.

"This is the least we can do for our brothers because we share the same sorrow," Safadi added, Safadi said in joint press statement. He lauded the deep-rooted historical ties with Turkiye.

He expressed his appreciation for Turkish authorities' efforts and great cooperation in searching for missing Jordanians in a collapsed building in the Antakya region, stressing that Turkiye will rise again and will be rebuilt as soon as possible.

For his part, Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mevlut Cavusoglu, expressed his appreciation for Jordan's support to Turkiye, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah, referring to His Majesty's phone call with the Turkish President, during which he offered condolences and support to Turkiye and expressed Jordan's solidarity and support for his country.

Cavusoglu said that Jordan, since day one of the earthquake, has been in full contact with the Turkish side, and sent a search and dispatch team consisting of 75 people, a medical team of 30 people, and more than 10 tons of humanitarian aid, in addition to the Jordanian field hospital.

"We will continue to search for missing Jordanians in the building that was destroyed by the earthquake," Cavusoglu added.

The two ministers held an extensive talks that covered the impacts of the earthquake, bilateral ties and regional developments.
