The Commissioner for Tourism and Environment at the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, Dr. Nidal Majali, announced the figures for the past ten months for the tourism sector in Aqaba, stressing the distinction of the tourism year and it is still continuing with distinction, especially that the next two months will be a new tributary through the increase in the number of tourist ships and the heavy low-cost air traffic.

Majali said that the number of visitors and tourists arriving in Aqaba through the sea, air and land crossings has reached (1,665,621) million.
In addition to the number of those registered in hotels during the past ten months, while the number of those registered in Aqaba hotels with all their classifications during the past ten months reached (842,962), including (408,646) foreign tourists, compared to (56,1773) the number of those registered in 2021 for all months of the year.

He pointed out that the average rate of hotel reservations of all classifications reached (52.9%) compared to (40.6%) during 2021, as the Israeli, American, German and British nationalities, according to their ranking, recorded the highest arriving foreign nationalities. While the Saudi nationality recorded the highest Arab nationality among the nationalities arriving in Aqaba.

He indicated that the number of arrivals and departures through King Hussein International Airport reached (159,971) thousand passengers on board (2102) arriving and departing flights during the past ten months, while the number of charter flights achieved (482) flights, which handled (44,211) passengers.
