Ammon News - Minister of Labor Nayef Istitieh and Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority (PDTRA) Suliman Farajat signed a memorandum of understanding on Sunday as part of the National Employment Program "Tashgheel," which aims to generate job opportunities in the private sector.

Istitieh reaffirmed the ministry's commitment to working with PDTRA, pointing out that cooperation will improve job prospects for Petra's local community members in the economy and tourism.

Through the Tashgheel program, the ministry will contribute JD150 to the monthly salaries of new employees for six months, beginning on the date of their registration with the Social Security Corporation, as well as cover their training costs.

Farajat, for his part, stated that the PDTRA will provide a sum of money to 200 employees for six months in addition to the ministry's JD150 monthly support.

Last April, the government launched "Tashgheel," as well as a promotional and educational campaign for private sector institutions. Around 750 establishments registered in the program, and 150 agreements were signed, while the number of registered individuals reached 13,000, and 1,339 people benefited from the program by the end of last July.
