The center expected that rainstorms will sweep parts of Qinghai, Gansu, Sichuan, Shaanxi and Chongqing, from Thursday morning to 8 a.m. Friday, adding that heavy downpours may reach around 180 mm in some regions. The meteorological center has urged local governments to make appropriate preparations and check the drainage systems in cities, farmlands and fishponds. China has a four-tier color-coded weather warning system, with red representing the most severe warning, followed by orange, yellow and blue.

Ammon News - China's National Meteorological Center on Thursday issued a blue alert for expected rainstorms in some parts of the country.

The center expected that rainstorms will sweep parts of Qinghai, Gansu, Sichuan, Shaanxi and Chongqing, from Thursday morning to 8 a.m. Friday, adding that heavy downpours may reach around 180 mm in some regions.
