Ammon News - A Cabinet session held Wednesday, headed by Prime Minister Dr. Bisher Khasawneh, approved the mandating reasons for the draft law of the Jordanian Medical Council (JMC) for 2022 and referred the bill to the Legislation and Opinion Bureau for discussion, giving it "urgency status".
Under the reasons, secretary-general of Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research is decided to join the JMC's committee, and Jordan Pharmacists Association (JPA) will be added in "Clinical Pharmacy" and "Doctor of Pharmacy" specialties under JMC's umbrella.
In addition, the bill includes re-formation of the higher studies and scientific committees, which would allow oversight over training programs, as well as improving fellowship and specialization programs, developing JMC's exams and institutionalizing medical education.
On the other hand, the Council of Ministers approved the mandating reasons for an amended draft bylaw for licensing activities related to the petroleum derivatives sector for 2022, aimed to stimulate the industry's workers contiued activities.
This bylaw also seeks to facilitate the procedures related to submitting, renewing or amending the sector's permits or licenses applications, align fees on practicing these activities with the actual businesses and adopt a clear mechanism for imposing duties.
On the economic level, the Cabinet approved the mandating reasons for a 2022 draft bylaw for fees and service allowances for Jordan Securities Commission (JSC), aimed to implement the "short-term" measures taken by the Cabinet last March to stimulate the stock market.
The gov't package included granting incentives to the newly-established public and private shareholder stock companies for listing in the stock market for a two-year period by exemption from registration fees paid to JSC and listing fees for a specific period.
