Ammon News - The government has decided to set aside JD30 million for the National Aid Fund (NAF) and a fund for impoverished university students to mitigate the effects of global fuel price rises, according to government spokesman Faisal Shboul.

NAF provides assistance to around 220,000 households, while the poor student's fund provides financial aid to 74,000 university students. Over the following six months, the financial assistance will be added to the beneficiaries' monthly payments. The decision also includes financial assistance for large and medium-sized public transportation buses and vehicles, Shboul, who is also Minister of State for Media Affairs, added.
