Ammon News - Jordanian companies specialized in the food industry concluded their participation, organized by Jordan Exporters Association (JEA), with the support of the Ministry of Investment, in the 17th SIAL Canada-"Inspire Food Business," which was held in Montreal.

According to a JEA statement on Saturday, Jordanian companies, which took part in in the three-day event, specialized in industries operating in the foodstuff, dessert and dietary products, including companies owned by businesswomen.

JEA chief, Halim Abu Rahma, said SIAL show is a food fair in North America, and targets the important and promising Canadian market for the Jordanian industry, due to the presence of a free trade agreement (FTA) linking the two countries, in addition to activity of large Arab and Middle Eastern communities.

Foreign exhibitions are the most powerful tool in promoting Jordanian exports, he noted, adding that the JEA , since its establishment, has implemented activities that would open the way and prospects for local products to enter global markets.

JEA's promotional activities are not limited to the Canadian market only, but extend to various countries, especially the United States and some Arab and European countries, in which the Jordanian industry has "remarkable" opportunities to be present and compete, Abu Rahma pointed out.

In addition, he stressed that increasing exports is a major pillar in stimulating national economy, generating more job opportunities, expanding investments, and supporting the Kingdom's foreign exchange reserves.

JEA's eight-year cooperation with the Trade Facilitation Office (TFO) Canada has proven "very effective" in terms of promoting Jordanian industrial exports and enhancing their presence in the Canadian market, and given an added value to marketing activity, in addition to providing Jordanian companies with all the details needed, and organizing bilateral meetings for participants, he noted.

Lauding Ministry of Investment's role in supporting the companies participating in the Sial show, he noted Jordan's participation in other exhibitions aimed to contribute to promoting national industry and its delivery to global markets.

Two days before the start of the exhibition, which was attended by 750 exhibitors representing 50 countries, he said JEA implemented an integrated promotional program for the participating Jordanian companies on the Canadian market and their commercial opportunities and organized field visits to Canadian warehouses that import similar products to the national industry.
