Cabinet passes range of decisions

The Cabinet Sunday passed a range of new decisions, including the bylaw of the National Security Council 2022 in implementation of the new constitutional reforms.
Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh opened the session by wishing His Majesty King Abdullah II a speedy recovery as his Majesty left for Germany for medical surgery.
According to Article 122 of the constitution, the National Security Council shall be established and composed of: the Prime Minister, the Minister of Defence, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, the Minister of Interior, the Army Commander, the Director of Intelligence, the Director of Public Security, and two members appointed by the King.
The Cabinet also approved a draft law ratifying the extradition agreement between Jordan and Cyprus for the year 2022.
The Cabinet also approved a draft law to cancel the law ratifying the oil shale concession agreement between Jordan and the Jordan Oil Shale Company for the year 2022.
The Council of Ministers decided to exempt 11,505 taxpayers from 50% of the value of the construction site license fees incurred by them, provided they pay the remaining amount no later than the end of the working day on Thursday, June 30, 2022.
On the other hand, the Council of Ministers decided to appoint Kholoud Abbadi as secretary-general of the Ministry of Justice for Administrative and Financial Affairs.
In addition, the Prime Minister decided to name the Minister of State for Legal Affairs, Wafaa Bani Mustafa, as chairperson of the Ministerial Committee for the Empowerment of Women.
