Ammon News - The Senate's President, Faisal Fayez, said Jordan's political reform is implemented "gradually," affected by the society's political culture and prioritizing public interest and national identity.

Speaking at a symposium entitled: "Jordan ... What do we need today," held by Jordanian Masarat for Development and Progress, Fayez called for solidarity to preserve the Kingdom's stability and its future.

Fayez said engagement in partisan work is impeded by job and livelihood instability, which is a priority for the Jordanian citizen.

In this regard, he said solving the unemployment problem is the basis for any political reform that requires "decent" living conditions to produce sound political activities.

Referring to the "very remarkable "difficulties that Jordan is facing, he cited Covid-19 pandemic and Ukraine war as the most recent examples that led to exposing the Kingdom's economy to "strong" blows.

These conditions that Jordan is battling are similar to the crises that the country faced in the middle of the last century, he noted.

Citing a solution to a Jordan's key problem, he said the country is rattled by a "remarkable" water loss as large quantities of surface water are not used, pointing to the need to address the "clear" weakness in water harvesting field.

As for the country's administrative crisis, he called for raising the level of societal awareness to ensure public employees perform their jobs effectively.

In addition, he called for supporting newspapers, as media is a key sector and " powerful" weapon today.
