Ammon News -

The Public Security Directorate (PSD) Tuesday dismissed rumours about riots and brawls or suspension of voting in some regions during local elections across the Kingdom, and said the voting day was trouble-free.

The PSD media spokesman said the directorate had monitored "misleading and untrue" information that some people tried to disseminate with the aim of "stirring public opinion."

He said no incidents, scuffles or security incidents to mar the electoral process were recorded, adding that security forces were in their positions working according to plan to protect the electoral process and prevent violations

He said police are tracking the rumour-mongers and will refer them to justice, urging the public to authenticate any information before publication.
