His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II on Wednesday stressed the importance of an investment-friendly environment in countering poverty and unemployment, urging a move towards vocational and technical education, and setting up "training for employment" programmes.

At a meeting with young activists in Dana Nature Reserve in Tafileh Governorate, Crown Prince Al Hussein urged engaging in small- and medium-sized enterprises and self-employment programmes, while promoting the culture of entrepreneurship.

His Royal Highness expressed pride in young Jordanians as beacons of hope in the future, calling for promoting positivity and a sense of dedication, as well as proposing practical solutions to deal with difficulties facing young people, amid high unemployment rates.

Stressing the importance of youth engagement in the municipal and governorate council elections slated for next week, the Crown Prince urged young people to also engage in political and partisan life.

His Royal Highness noted the importance of youth centres in the governorates, which are being developed and activated within plans to turn them into spaces for young people’s activities.

The young activists spoke to the Crown Prince about their experiences in social development, women and youth empowerment, promotion of political engagement, self-employment, conserving cultural heritage and promoting tourism, volunteerism and charity work, community service, and innovation and entrepreneurship.

After the meeting, His Royal Highness toured a number of facilities at Dana Nature Reserve, including the guesthouse, the nature shop, and the silver workshop.
