Al-Hayari appointed CEO of the oil refinery, succeeding Al-Alawin

Ammon News - Ammon was informed that Engineer Hassan Al-Hayari will become the new CEO of Jopetrol in early December, replacing Abdul Karim Al-Alaween, under the leadership of Engineer Abdul Rahim Al-Baqaei and the Board of Directors of the Jordan Petroleum Refinery Company.

This occurred on Monday, following Al-Alaween's official resignation from his position.

Engineer Al-Hayari graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Basra in Iraq in 1993. He has taken on various roles in the energy industry and is also part of numerous local and international committees.

He has more than 22 years of experience in the energy sector, which he gained by joining the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources in 2001, during which he worked in the oil and derivatives and natural gas sectors, and held many responsibilities in the ministry, the last of which was the position of Assistant Secretary-General for Energy Affairs.

Al-Hayari also participated in the membership of the Royal Energy Committee in 2022 within the National Economic Workshop entitled "Moving Towards the Future: Unleashing Potential for Modernizing the Economy", in addition to his work as a member of the Board of Directors of the Jordan Oil Terminals Logistics Company, and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Petroleum Company, in addition to his membership in the Fuel Price Adjustment Committee and the Petroleum Operations Cost Recovery Committee.

Al-Hayari represented Jordan in many international forums and conferences, including his membership in the Fossil Fuel Experts Group - Energy Committee of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia, his membership in the Natural Gas Team within the Specialized Group for Natural Gas in the Mediterranean and Europe and Gas Regulators, his representation of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources in the meetings of the Union for the Mediterranean (UFM), and his membership in the Jordanian team following up on the project to extend a pipeline to export Iraqi oil through the territory of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan from the port of Aqaba.

- Assistant Secretary General for Energy Affairs / Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources 2021-2023.

- Director of Natural Gas / Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources 2015-2018.

- Head of Natural Gas Studies Department / Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources 2005-2015.

- Maintenance Manager / Private Sector 1995-2001.

Local and External Representation:

- Participation as a member of the Royal Energy Committee in 2022 within the National Economic Workshop entitled "Moving Towards the Future: Unleashing Potential for Modernizing the Economy".

- Member of the Board of Directors of the Jordan Logistics Company for Oil Facilities 2019-2024.

- Member of the Technical Committee for the Project to Extend a Pipeline to Export Iraqi Oil through the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan from the Port of Aqaba.

- Expert in the Fossil Fuels Group/ Energy Committee/ Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia at the United Nations.

- Member of the Gas Team within the Specialized Group for Natural Gas in the Mediterranean and Europe and Gas Regulators.

- Representing the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources in the meetings of the Union for the Mediterranean (UFM).

Last week, the Petroleum Refinery Company announced the resignation of CEO Abdul Karim Al-Alawin in a disclosure via the Amman Stock Exchange, with the resignation taking effect from November 3.
