"The in-class education will continue, but more caution, cautious, adherence to the health protocol, wearing masks and encouraging parents and students to receive the vaccine to protect them, are required," a senior education official announced.
Secretary-General of the Ministry of Education for Technical and Financial Affairs, Najwa Qbailat, told the Jordan News Agency (Petra) on Tuesday that the Ministry monitors infections on a daily basis and follows up with the Ministry of Health and the National Centre for Security and Crisis Management (NCSCM) on all matters related to the situation in schools as part of its keenness to take care of students' health and safety.
The Covid-19 active infection rate is currently at 0.5% of the total number of students and workers in the education sector.
She added that 178, out of 1011 classrooms, are still receiving remote education since the beginning of September, following the suspension of in-class education in them.
Qbailat revealed that the cumulative rate of Covid-19 infections in schools since resuming in-class education until today stands at 1.7%, pointing out that the average daily infections has increased since the beginning of the semester.
She urged everyone to share responsibility and redouble efforts to limit the spread of infections.
