Ammon News - The death of a soldier was confirmed by the US military, who was seriously injured during a non-combat operation while assisting the army's pier near the Gaza Strip.
Sergeant Quandarius Devon Stanley, who had recently left the army, suffered severe injuries in May while assisting operations at sea on the United States' pier designed to enhance the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.
The death of Stanley was confirmed by the US military in a statement, however, the specific time was not provided.
Stanley was being treated at a medical facility that specialized in long-term care.
During the floating pier mission, three American soldiers were wounded, while the remaining two sustained only minor injuries and resumed their duties.
The US military concluded its activities at the dock in July, following Biden's announcement to establish the dock for providing aid to Gaza in response to reports of famine in the Strip.
The mission at the pier included 1,000 American troops, who managed to provide only a fraction of the planned assistance despite encountering challenges such as fires, harsh weather, and dangers along the shore caused by the Israeli conflict with Gaza.
