The recommendations included changes to the political parties and elections acts, and it proposed a set of constitutional amendments, in addition to recommendations to enhance local administration and the empowerment of women and the youth.

Khasawneh said his government will submit the elections and political parties draft laws to the parliament, as per the guidance of His Majesty King Abdullah II.

He said the government is committed to advancing the three-pronged reform plan, political, administrative and economic, without delay. He highlighted the government's role would be to advance the Committee's recommendations, which constitute a "quantum leap."

He said politicians and society play a "crucial" role in translating the recommendations into reality, adding that the recommendations stem from the "honest" national needs.

On recommendations pertinent to women and youth empowerment, Khasawneh said they would be referred to the competent institutions whose work and remit of authority might intersect.

Most notable amongst the Committee's recommendations is the lowering of the age of nomination to the Lower House to 25.
