Director General of the Customs Department, Jalal Qudah, on Wednesday checked on operations at Jaber border crossing with Syria in northern Mafraq governorate.

To ensure smooth traffic, Qudah said the department has increased its teams working at the border crossing for the purpose of facilitating freight and passenger procedures, following the government's decision to resume full operations at Jaber borders.

The customs procedures implemented in Jaber crossing, which started to work at "full" capacity, will remain "unchanged," he said, pointing to the "high" coordination with Jordan's security departments to facilitate and complete travelers' transactions "as quickly and easily as possible."

Director of the crossing's customs, Ahmed Quraan, said a number of "new" measures will be implemented as of Wednesday, foremost is scrapping back to back delivery system, and allowing unlimited number of buses to leave from the Jordanian territories to Syria.

The procedures in force also allow 100 public vehicles to leave for Syrian territory, while emphasizing the need to register the public driver on the platform of the Ministry of Health, according to Quraan.
