The Northern Military Zone, in coordination with the Jordan Customs Department and upon intelligence information, on Thursday, foiled attempt to smuggle an amount of arms from Syria, in addition to an infiltration attempt.
A source at the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) said that the rules of engagement were applied, leading to the retreat of suspects to the Syrian lands.
Searching the area, agents found more than 200 thousand drug pills, and a number of firearms all of which were referred to relevant authorities, added the source.
The Jordan Armed Forces, the source stressed, will firmly deal with any attempt in this regard to safeguard the Kingdom's security.
