COVID-19 increases number of beneficiaries from gov't support programs

Ammon News - The National Aid Fund (NAF), Monday, said that the number of families covered by its monthly cash assistance program has increased, reaching 106,000, an increase of about 10,625.

The COVID-19 pandemic and its economic ramifications has been the main factor in the increase in the number of families dependent on the services of the Fund, based on NAF official numbers

NAF provides additional support to improve the living conditions of the most hard-hit communities and people living in poor areas. The number of families benefiting from the program stands at some 10,250, and for those benefiting from the emergency cash assistance at 13,325.


Also, 566 families are covered under the physical rehabilitation assistance and the vocational training programs, the figures indicated.
