Ammon News - Google Maps and Google Earth conspiracy theorists claim to have spotted a whole host of mysterious objects throughout 2020 – with the sightings ranging from "ghosts" to "relics from Antarctica".
Conspiracy theorists have spotted a lot of mysterious objects in Google Maps images in 2020 and many of them are still unexplained.
Maps and Google Earth, which shows satellite images of Earth, are frequently used by enthusiasts to spot interesting land features and markings, with believers even claiming to spot "evidence" of extraterrestrial activity.
Another popular theory with truth-seekers is that an advanced civilisation may have once lived in Antarctica, with strange objects and shapes in the freezing wasteland often described as "ancient relics".
Below, Daily Star has picked out four of the strangest sights spotted on Google Earth and Google Maps this year.
Melting Antarctic ice reveals '60ft man-made disc'
A conspiracy theorist claims to have found a flying saucer created by mankind lodged in Antarctic ice.
The footage, uploaded by YouTuber MrMBB333, shows a circular-looking object in the snow.
Narrating the clip, he says: "This appears to be a 60ft-wide disc sticking out of the ground apparently being recently revealed by the melting snow and ice.
"There is the object, it looks like it was intelligently designed."
He said the thawing ice was "revealing this intelligently designed structure" and claimed it was definitely not just an iceberg.
Conspiracy theorists were impressed with the sighting, with many expanding on the wild idea.
One viewer claimed it was "hovering" rather than being stuck in the ice and another said it was an "absolutely artificial" design.
More cynical people suggested the shape was simply a pool of water.

Area 51's '53ft giant robot'
Alien hunter Scott C Waring set the conspiracy world alight when he claimed to have spotted a "giant robot" being built at Area 51.
In a YouTube video on his UFO Sightings Daily channel, the conspiracy theorist told his 44,000 subscribers a "new technology" was visible on both Google Earth and Google Maps.
Narrating a video showing a top-down view of the secretive United States Air Force base, where several man-shaped shadows are visible, he said: "I can't believe it's real and it looks like a new technology that Area 51 was working on.
"What I see is what looks like a robot, a giant robot laying down on its back and there's another one over here."
The truth-seeker said the images could be explained by a soldier "playing around", but could not rule out giant robots being made for "combat missions".
Commenting on the outlandish video, another believer mysteriously said: "They’re getting ready to fight the giants."
"They're just shadows," said someone else.

Spooky 'ghost' lurking in Paris Catacombs
A strange trick of the light in the Paris Catacombs was spotted on Google Street View and quickly caught the attention of paranormal truth-seekers.
The image shows stacks of skulls and other human bones lining the walls of the crypt. In the middle of the corridor, a strange multi-coloured light with a vaguely human shape can be seen.
After circulating on Reddit, people debated on whether or not it was a ghost or something more mundane.
"That looks like an apparition to me, but it could be a trick of the light," one commented.
Another wrote: "It certainly has the outlines of 'some being'.
"It even seems like there's an almost identical outline in the ceiling, just above the phenomenon."
A cynic commented: "It's clearly a person, you can almost see the clothes they're wearing."
Famous as a spooky site, the Paris Catacombs has its own ghost tale in which it's rumoured that if you go down into the crypts at midnight, the skulls will talk to you until you lose your way in the dark.
'Frankenstein's monster' spotted on field
Reddit sleuths jokingly claimed they had found “Frankenstein’s Monster” on Google Maps after spotting a strange shape carved into a field in Dyer, Indiana, US.
The image shows a scary giant with a huge head and its arms out in front as well as the monster’s trademark squared-off head.
No one knows how the mystery shape got there, but it seems likely it was done by a lawn mower.
It was shared to Reddit with the caption: “Frankenstein’s monster” and it wasn’t long before dozens of people commented their thoughts.
One wrote: "Which happens to be close to Munster, coincidentally."
Another said: "This appears to be Frankenstein's Monster's Monster, Frankenstein."
