Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Muhyiddine Touq, and his Yemeni counterpart, Hussein Basalamah, discussed means of enhancing academic and scientific relations between the two countries.
During a meeting on Saturday, Touq lauded the robust bilateral ties, pointing to the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II to give the Jordanian-Yemeni relations more attention.
The meeting also tackled signing a cultural cooperation agreement between the two brotherly countries.
Touq said Jordan's higher education is currently going through transformation and development to reach global standards, pointing to 3 Jordanian universities among the top 600 in the world, adding that efforts are being made to improve the ranking.
Basalamah pointed out the brotherly and historical bilateral relations, hailing the Kingdom's support for Yemen in all fields, especially the procedures provided by the Higher Education Ministry for Yemenis studying in Jordanian universities.
On the cultural agreement, the minister said his country is looking forward to signing it to exchange expertise and students.
