The minister stressed that Israel's settlement construction is illegal and illegitimate under international law, urging the international community to shoulder its legal and ethical responsibility and oblige Israel to abide by the UN Security Council Resolution No. 2334. Safadi warned that Israel's continued illegal settlement construction undermines the two-state solution which is the only way to resolve the conflict and "kill" any prospect to bring about comprehensive and lasting peace.
