Drop in temps forecast Sunday

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A slight in temperatures is expected on Sunday, bringing pleasant weather conditions in the highlands, while it will be moderate in other parts of the Kingdom, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said.

Low-altitude clouds are also expected in the northern and central areas with a chance for light showers, while winds will be northwesterly moderate to brisk, the JMD added.

Similar weather will remain on Monday with low clouds, the department stated, noting that clouds will start to build up in the afternoon, creating a chance for scattered showers in the northern regions extending to other areas. Winds will be northwesterly moderate to brisk at times.

The Kingdom will be affected on Tuesday by unstable weather conditions, as mercury levels will rise few degrees, but partly cloudy weather will prevail with a chance for showers across the country that may turn heavy accompanied by thunder and lightning at times, causing floods in valleys and low-lying areas. Winds will be northeasterly to northwesterly moderate to brisk, the JMD added.

Daytime temperatures expected for today in Amman and the northern cities will hover around 26 degrees Celsius, dropping down at night to 15 degrees. The weather will be hotter in the port city of Aqaba with highs reaching 33 degrees and lows standing at 23 at night, the JMD further said.
