Col. Amer Sartawi on Wednesday. "An armed unidentified person entered the bank branch and tried to rob it, however a security guard was able to foil the robbery," Sartawi stated, adding: "the suspect fled the scene." The security guard, a number of citizens, and Criminal Investigation Department (CID) personnel successfully apprehended the suspect with possession of a firearm, and was taken for questioning, he pointed out. Sartawi said the security precautions taken beforehand and the increased police patrol presence in the area were a key factor in foiling the attempt.

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A bank robbery attempt was thwarted in Hittin district in Zarqa governorate earlier today, said Spokesperson of the Public Security Department (PSD), Lt. Col. Amer Sartawi on Wednesday.
