King chairs meeting on national human resources strategy

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah II on Wednesday, chaired a meeting to follow up on the implementation of the National Strategy for Human Resources Development 2016-2025.
In the meeting held in the al-Husseineyah palace in the in the presence of Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, King Abdullah was briefed on the progress in implementing the strategy's recommendations, which was launched in September 2016, with the aim of enhancing human resources capabilities and framing the work of all sectors involved in the education process from early childhood to the labor market.
His Majesty underlined that coordination and integration of all efforts to follow up on implementing the strategy is necessary, and it must continue in accordance with the agreed mechanism for determining responsibilities, noting that the strategy is an important priority, and any disruption of the process of achievement and required reform is unacceptable.
The King stressed the need to exert tangible effects of the reform efforts on the education process at the beginning of the next academic year (September 2018). Periodic follow-up must also be continued to ensure that things are moving in the right direction and become a solid working approach for successive governments, His Majesty added.
On vocational and technical education, King Abdullah emphasized the need for a radical change in vocational education, by ensuring the quality education and output and enabling trainees to acquire skills that qualify them to compete according to the requirements of the labor market.
His Majesty expressed satisfaction with the progress made in implementing the strategy's priorities and voiced his support for all efforts to ensure the achievement of its objectives, programs and projects associated with it.
During the meeting, Prime Minister, Hani Mulki, said the government is working to implement royal directives to improve the level of education in schools, universities, as well as technical, and vocational education institutes.
The government is also working to employ innovative and technological means of education to promote a qualitative and advanced level of education, "which is the most important and comparative advantage of our human resources," Mulki added.
He highlighted the government's plan to address challenges that limit opportunities for the advancement of the vocational and technical education sector, by involving the private sector in the planning and implementation process.
