Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The 13 session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) kicked off in the Iranian capital with participation of 54 Islamic nations.
The Arab delegations taking part in the Tehran deliberations picked Jordan as a member of the permanent inter-faith panel.
PM Yahia Al-Saud, chair of House Committee of Palestine, a member of the House delegation, called for highlighting the key role of the Hashemite custodianship over Jerusalem holy Islamic and Christian sites and called for backing Amman's historic role there.
Al-Saud tabled an overture to the OIC Palestine Panel to visit the Palestinian territories and the Gaza strip in a bid to end Israeli-imposed embargo on the enclave.
On the Syrian refugee crisis, the parliamentary delegates stressed the need to offer further financial support to Jordan to help tackle the grave ramifications of this humanitarian plight.
As for UNRAW funding, MP Hussein Qaisi voiced Amman's rejection to slashing aid funneled to this organization, and added the refugee issue is resolved within a final settlement of the Palestinian cause.
