Cold weather expected Thursday, depression coming Friday

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A in temperatures is forecast on Thursday creating cold and partly cloudy to cloudy weather with showers in the northern and central parts of the country, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said.
Starting early Friday, the Kingdom will be affected by a cold air mass accompanied by a depression centered over Cyprus causing a further in temperatures and creating chilly and cloudy conditions.
Rain is also expected in the northern and central areas that might extend to other parts of the country, the JMD added. Flash floods especially in low-lying areas accompanied with thunderstorms, lightning and hail are also expected on Friday. Strong gusty winds are also forecast to reach 70 KM/h, the forecasters said.
Temperatures will rise few degrees on Saturday, but it will remain cold and partly cloudy with a chance for light showers during day time. By the afternoon, the weather will start to stabilize, as the impact of the combined weather condition gradually subsides," the forecasters said.
Temperatures expected in Amman and the northern areas for today will reach 12 degrees Celsius dropping down to 6 and 7 degrees respectively. In the port city of Aqaba, mercury levels will record 23 degrees during the day, sliding to 11 at night.
