Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Jordan on Wednesday praised China's support of Palestinian rights and the Middle East two-state solution ahead of hosting Arab ministerial follow-up talks aimed at combatting the US move to declare Jerusalem as Israel's capital next week.
The foreign ministers of both countries, during talks over the phone, urged the need for global efforts aimed at reaching a political solution that ends the crisis according to international law and the Palestinians' right to freedom and statehood.
Reiterating that the two-state solution is the only way out of the crisis, Jordan's Ayman Safadi said the US
decision had no legal basis, according to a Jordanian ministry statement.
Arab countries are tackling the move through urging a comprehensive international response that recognises a
Palestinian state, with Jerusalem as its capital, according to the borders of 1967 and the need for just peace, added Safadi.
The talks, scheduled in Amman on Monday, will host an Arab League ministerial taskforce, including Jordan,
Palestine, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Morocco and the Arab League chief.
For his part, Wang Yi declared China's unwavering support for the rights of Palestinians, the two-state solution and efforts to mobilise effective global efforts aimed at putting an end to the crisis.
