Tarawneh: Parliament keen to help resolve media challenges

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Speaker of the Lower House of Parliament, Atef Tarawneh, said the House is keen to have a robust media sector and ready to work with competent institutions to help this key sector assume its key role.

During discussions with President of the Jordan Press Associations (JPA) Rakan Saaideh on Wednesday , Tarawneh outlined the media' crucial national role and exceptional importance in the volatile region.

The Middle-East developments express the dire need for a vigorous and effective media, he underlined.

The House, he said, is keen to endorse the necessary legislative steps in cooperation with the JPA to foster the media's progress on the basis of objectivity and professionalism.

Saaideh, for his part, lauded the House's conspicuous support and its keenness to help paper dailies resolve its rigorous financial gripes, in a bid to continue delivering Jordan's stances.
