Allaf : JIACC handled 1328 complaints in 2017

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Jordan Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission (JIACC) director, Mohammed Allaf, on Sunday said the (JIACC) has dealt with 1328 complaints in 2017, 415 of which were refereed to interrogation, 22 are in the hands of the judiciary, and 462 ditched for malicious prosecution suspicions.

During the fact-finding parliamentary delegation visit to the (JIACC) headquarters, in a bid to reach a holistic counter-corruption vision, Allaf added the estimated amount involved in these said cases stood at 125 million Jordanian dinars.

The anti-corruption effort is a national responsibility , which involves all state institutions, deeming it "a battle" to achieve qualitative strides in this field and the corporation has a strategic assessment of the corruption status in the Kingdom, he pointed out.

"We foiled 15 corruption cases in advance and took relevant preemptive measures aimed to unravel and dissect these schemes, " he underscored.

The (JIACC) is exerting relentless efforts to forge strategic institutional partnerships to raise awareness of the risks of this phenomenon, with eye on the educational sector, he underlined.
