PM delivers lecture at Royal Jordanian National Defense College

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Prime Minister Hani al-Mulki, on Tuesday, said managing the Jordanian state is proceeding in accordance with a prudent approach, vision, and a religious, historical, popular and legitimate leadership that enabled it to survive and grow throughout history.
Delivering a lecture on managing the Jordanian state at the Royal Jordanian National Defense College, Al-Mulki added that Jordan has been committed to its principles upon which it was founded, as part of the Great Arab Revolt's principles.
He noted the Jordanian state has continued its march of building and modernization in various fields, which turned it into a a model country in a turbulent region.
The prime minister spoke about Jordan's political life, including political reform and the foreign policy.
He pointed out that Jordan, in the era of His Majesty King Abdullah II, has moved forward in enhancing its democratic approach in a consistent pace without interruption and promoted the foundations of the modern civil state.
Mulki also highlighted Jordan's constitutional amendments and political reforms that took place between 2011 and 2016.
He stressed the importance of the upcoming elections as a national and constitutional duty for everyone, in order to contribute to strengthening the parliamentary and democratic life.
He said Jordan has invested in its good relations with various countries of the world, in order to defend Arab causes, particularly the Palestinian cause and the right of Palestinians in establishing their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital, on pre-1967 borders according to international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab peace initiative.
The premier also spoke about Jordan's stances toward developments in a number of Arab countries, such as Syria and Iraq as well as the Kingdom's role in the war against terrorism.
On the economy, the prime minister said Jordan's economy managed to face various challenges; locally, regionally and internationally, noting that his government has a reformist economic program that focuses on reducing debt rate until 2021.
He also said the government has taken several measures to reduce unemployment rate through focusing on supporting the employment policy to increase productivity and cut excessive spending.
Concluding his lecture, the prime minister said the nation's stability, unity and security are essential foundations for strengthening the state power and its ability to meet challenges.
