Judeh meets delegation of US Congressional aides

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign And Expatriate Affairs Nasser Judeh, Tuesday discussed with a delegation of US Congressional aides the Jordanian-US strategic partnership in various fields as well as the continued coordination on common issues and challenges.
Talks during the meeting also dealt with the situation in the Middle East as well as regional and international efforts to face the threat of terrorist organizations and extremist ideologies and preserve the security and stability of the region.
Judeh reiterated that the war on terrorism is Jordan’s war, noting that Islam is innocent of terrorist acts and that those who commit such acts are not related to Islam.
The talks also dealt with efforts to resume peace talks between the Palestinians and Israelis leading to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state as per the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, in line with the two-state solution and the Arab peace initiative.
The minister also spoke about the Syrian crisis and its repercussions on the region, and reiterated the need to find a comprehensive political solution to the crisis.
In this context, Judeh appreciated the support provided by the United States (U.S.) to Jordan to enable it to offer services to Syrian refugees.
He also thanked the U.S. for its support to the Kingdom in implementing development and reform programs in various fields.
Members of the delegation voiced their appreciation for Jordan's role under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II in dealing with various regional and international issues.
