Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Jordanian government on Monday warned the Syrian government of its "accusatory rhetoric", which has nothing to do with reality, and of continuing to level accusations against other countries and said Syrian authorities' failure to bring their people to the dialogue table is the cause of Syria's problems and nothing else.
Government Spokesman and State Minister for Media Affairs, Mohammad Momani said Jordan continues to advocate a political solution to the Syria crisis and will not accept any questioning of its pro-Syrian people stances.
The minister said it remains a Jordanian interest to see Syria secure and stable and capable of keeping its problems at home. In a statement to the Jordan News Agency (Petra), Momani said the Syrian crisis forced about 1.5 million Syrians to flee their homeland to Jordan, placing massive economic, social and financial pressures on the Kingdom. He added that the cost of hosting the Syrian refugees in the Kingdom is more than $2.9 billion a year, noting that there are 140,000 Syrian students studying at Jordanian schools, let alone the military burden being borne by Jordan to secure the borders which Syrian authorities don't protect from their side.
