Army chief visits northern borders, checks on military readiness

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - His Majesty the King's Advisor for Military Affairs and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Mashal Mohammad Al-Zabin, on Monday, conveyed the greetings of His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, for the Jordan Armed Forces - The Arab Army and security agencies' personnel for their sincere and distinctive efforts to protect Jordan's borders.

During an inspection tour of the northern Jaber border crossing with Syria, which has been closed for several days now, Al-Zabin was briefed regarding the combat readiness of the armed forces and measures taken to protect and secure the area, to prevent any attempts at infiltration or smuggling that would compromise the security of the Kingdom and its citizens.

The army chief also checked on other actions taken by all agencies at Jaber crossing.

Al-Zabin gave directives to firmly and strongly deal with any activity that would disturb the security of Jordanian citizens, not allowing anyone to illegally approach or penetrate even an inch into the Kingdom's borders and use maximum force, deploying all kinds of weapons.
