Gov't writes off debts worth JD2.425 billion since beginning of 2024

Ammon News - Data from the Ministry of Finance showed that the government has written off debts worth JD2.425 billion since the beginning of 2024 until the end of last July.

The data showed that the amount of interest paid by the government as a result of borrowing through treasury bonds and bills reached 712 million since the beginning of this year until the end of last July, according to Al-Mamlaka.

The government issued treasury bonds and bills worth JD3.450 billion since the beginning of 2024 until the end of July of this year, the data reveled.

JD43.083 billion total public debt
Financial data showed an increase in Jordan's total public debt, including the government's debt to the Social Security Investment Fund (SSIF), to JD43.083 billion, representing 115.8% of the gross domestic product.

The government's debt to the Social Security Investment Fund reached JD9.564 billion by the end of last July, the financial data pointed out.
