Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A Member of Parliament was admitted to the University of Jordan hospital on Wednesday to undergo "liposuction," Ammon News learned.
Medical sources at the hospital told Ammon News that the Medical Committee and the hospital administration initially refused to perform the fat removing surgery at the government's expense, citing that the procedure falls in the range of "cosmetic surgery."
The "wealthy" MP reportedly insisted on performing the procedure, and was admitted into a private wing in the hospital to undergo liposuction despite the hospital administration's refusal, the medical sources added.
Ammon News attempted to contact the UJ Hospital administration, but got no response to the inquiry.
Later on Wednesday night, a government source denied that the MP requested to be treated at the expense of the government, stressing that the government has not paid for the procedure.
