Jordan, Egypt discuss gas supplies

Ammon News - ISTANBUL (Petra)-Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour and his Egyptian counterpart Hisham Qandil on Saturday met in Istanbul and discussed the issue of Egyptian gas provided to Jordan.

Ensour praised the stand of Qandil and the seriousness shown by the Egyptian government to fulfill its commitments, provide Jordan with the quantities of gas agreed upon and ensure the flow of gas without interruption.

Regarding the Syrian crisis, Qandil stressed the need to find a political solution that ends the suffering of the Syrian people.

Ensour pointed out the humanitarian side of this crisis on Jordan which hosts hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees, hoping for a political exit out of this crisis that ensures the return of refugees to their homeland.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Board of Governors Annual Meeting held in Istanbul on 10-11 May 2013.
