Ammon News - AMMAN – The government on Tuesday decided to lower fuel prices by around 5 per cent as of Wednesday.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply, the pricing committee put the price of one litre of unleaded 90-octane gasoline at JD0.765 down from JD0.800, while a litre of 95-octane will be sold at JD0.93 instead of JD0.97.

Prices of both diesel and kerosene will go down to JD0.635 from JD0.665 a litre, the statement said.

The price of cooking gas remained unchanged at JD10 per cylinder.

In remarks to The Jordan Times last week, President of the Gas Stations Owners Association Fahed Al Fayez expected fuel prices to go down by at least 6 per cent, basing his calculations on the average price of Brent Crude Oil on the international market during April.

According to Fayez, the global price of oil per barrel in April ranged between $99 and $102. (Jordan Times)
