MP Khashman backs down from House Speakership bid

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Newly elected member of Parliament Mohammad Khashman announced on Wednesday that he is not running for the position of Speaker of the House.

Khashman won a seat in the 17th parliament despite being detained in prison pending investigation into allegations of vote buying and use of political money before he was released on bail the day after the elections.

He issued a statement clarifying that he does not intend to run for the position of house speakership, denying reports in media outlets regarding his vying for the position.

Captain Khashman, as he is commonly known, won his seat under the national ticket heading the National Union List, is a pilot who owns Jordan Aviation airlines.
