AMMONNEWS - Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) cadres removed over 2000 banners and placards of candidates running in the upcoming parliamentary elections in the past 48 hours after strong winds and bad weather conditions knocked them down.

Head of GAM Media Center Nidal Khreisha told Ammon News that the campaign banners and placards were removed after cadres found that they pose a danger to pedestrian and street traffic.

Khreisha added that GAM emergency department received over 40 complaints from residents regarding campaign advertisement material falling on the ground, some of which blocked manholes that blocked the water drainage system.

Meanwhile, GAM had announced a state of emergency in the capital Amman as a result of bad weather conditions affecting the kingdom, including heavy rainfall, snowfall, and strong winds.
