Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The cost of the damages caused by more than one hundred protests and violent riots that erupted throughout the kingdom since last week in reaction to the government's decision to float prices of oil derivatives, totaled JD 696,600, Jordan News Agency Petra reported.
The escalation of violence comes amidst tense conditions in the kingdom, with violent riots, vandalism, and major protests erupting in various governorates in the kingdom since Tuesday, after the government decided to lift subsidies on fuel derivatives, causing a major hike in prices.
Damages included torching government and municipality buildings, vandalizing shops, cars, and public properties, and blocking roads with burning tires, trash containers, and rocks.
