Ammon News - AMMONNEWS – Under the Patronage of His Excellency Mr. Sami Gammoh, Minister of Industry & Trade, Japan Tobacco International (JTI) Jordan, a leading cigarette manufacturing and distribution company in the Kingdom, has inaugurated a new factory in Al Qastal in the Al Jizah District. The new factory will be able to produce an annual total capacity of 5 billion cigarettes, and will additionally increase JTI Jordan’s combined workforce to 175 employees.
Thomas McCoy, JTI Chief Operating Officer, stated, “The expansion of our manufacturing capacity represents a significant milestone for JTI’s operations in the Kingdom. This new state-of-the-art factory demonstrates our belief and confidence in the recently adopted investment laws in Jordan and is a testament to our ongoing commitment to support and contribute to the local economy.”
JTI Jordan manufactures and markets a variety of brands in the Kingdom. It has created over the years new job opportunities and is an important contributor to state tax revenues.
Established in 2000, JTI Jordan was the first cigarette manufacturing and distribution company in the Kingdom to be certified for Quality Management System (ISO 9001-2000), Environmental Management System (ISO 14001-2004), and Occupational Health and Safety System (ISO 18001-2007).
