Spokesperson of the SSC Musa Subaihi said that maternity insurance aims to provide protection and safety for the insured in the private sector. "This motivates employers to employ women and refrain from terminating their services in the event of marriage due to the importance of the role of women in participation in the labor market, thus contributing to economic and social empowerment," he added. Subaihi said that more than 23,000 Jordanian housewives have joined the social security umbrella through voluntary participation, and 7,000 others have been granted pension through their voluntary participation.
