Banned Hizb ut-Tahrir members arrested in northern Jordan

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - (Exclusive) - Security forces on Friday arrested a number of members of the banned Hizb ut-Tahrir (Party of Liberation) in the northern city of Irbid after the party held activities in several mosques in Irbid after Friday prayer, 'Ammon News' learned from informed sources.

During the events, party members attacked the government's policies and accused the government of taking part in the Israeli 'alternative homeland for Palestinians' scheme.

The members spoke in an activity organized after Friday prayer in the Grand Irbid Mosque.

In related reports, 'Ammon news' learned that the International Hizb ut-Tahrir, a pan-Islamist international vanguard political party, will hold a conference in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, next week.

Three Jordanian opposition figures are expected to participate in the conference.
