Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Climbat Amman, the first indoor climbing center in Jordan and the Middle East, announces the beginning of the “International Indoor Climbing World Cup” in Jordan for the first time in the Middle East. The world cup competitions will take place at the center’s premises in Marj Al Haman and will start on Thursday October 20th, 2011 and ends on Friday October 21st, 2011.
In this occasion, Mr. Sharaf Kilani, the owner and general manager of the Climbat Amman Center, expressed his gratitude for hosting the International Indoor Climbing World Cup – Jordan 2011 for the first time as this event would reinforce the importance of such sport. Mr. Kilani has also added that the center acts as an attraction to visitors, sports’ enthusiasts and athletes from all over the world to Jordan, which has always been a touristic hub and Climbat Amman will hopefully become a new destination for both locals and visitors as well.
"The indoor climbing sport is a unique and distinctive one as it engages the climber with a lot of fun and entertainment. The center caters for all ages and the halls are especially equipped to imitate the natural mountains’ environment, including the challenges and difficulties that one would face while hiking and climbing outdoors. The International Indoor Climbing World Cup – Jordan would witness the participation of 30 athletes coming from Jordan, Australia, Belgium, China, Spain, France, Italy, Japan, Korea, Russia and Slovenia.
