Sermon participates in ICT Forum 2010

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Sermon, the leading Jordanian business solutions provider, took part in MENA ICT Forum 2010, organized by Inj@j in coordination with USAID Jordan Economic Development Program (SABEQ) and Jordan Enterprise Development Cooperation JEDCO.

The event, held under the patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II bin al-Hussein, aimed to move forward in developing the ICT industry in order to serve the Kingdom’s vital sectors including the educational and the human resources sectors.

“The forum was a great opportunity for ICT leaders around the world to meet and discuss the Sector’s current trends and future prospects, in addition to evaluate the successes have been achieved during the past few years,” Eng. Omar Zaidan, Sermon Solutions CEO said.

The two-day event took place at the King Hussein Business Park in Amman and brought together over 500 local, regional, and international ICT leaders and professionals.

Zaidan emphasized on the event’s importance in achieving the government’s objective to an attractive investment climate in Jordan, “the forum highlighted a number of current, and future issues of interest like Arabic content, social media, mobile applications, cloud computing, business process outsourcing and emerging trends and technologies among other topics.”

During the forum, participants discussed a number of issues related to the ICT sector including regional investment climates, legislative supportive systems, infrastructure and communications, emerging technologies, as well as education and human capital development.

It is worth mentioning that Jordan has witnessed remarkable growth rates in the ICT industry estimated at 1 billion $ during the past few years.
