Omar Qarada claims Jordan's first gold at Nagoya 2026 Asian Para Games

19-10-2026 09:44 AM

Ammon News - On Monday morning, Jordanian Paralympic champion Omar Qarada won the gold medal in the 49kg powerlifting event at the Asian Para Games in Nagoya 2026. This victory marks the first medal for Jordan at the games, with the competition taking place at the Nagoya Trade & Industry Center in Japan.

Qarada lifted 176 kg, outperforming all his rivals to secure his second consecutive gold medal at the Asian Para Games—and his third overall in his appearances at the event.

Having previously won gold in Guangzhou in 2010 and again in Hangzhou in 2023, Qarada’s return to the top of the podium in Nagoya 2026 reaffirms his status as one of the premier competitors on the continental stage.
