Ammon News - Jordanian and Sudanese authorities have returned a Nile crocodile to its natural habitat in Sudan’s Dinder National Park after it was seized in Jordan, where it was believed to have been illegally smuggled from Sudan.

The General Administration of Wildlife Protection Forces in Khartoum received the crocodile on Sunday after it arrived aboard a private aircraft from Jordan, drawing regional and international attention.

The crocodile was then transferred to the management of Dinder National Park, which will transport it from the administration headquarters into the reserve by a small boat before releasing it into the wild.

One of the organizations involved covered the cost of transporting the crocodile on a private aircraft and provided full care for the animal until its arrival at Port Sudan Airport.

Dinder National Park authorities praised the outstanding cooperation that facilitated the relocation of the Nile crocodile from Jordan to Sudan and its return to its natural environment.

This marks the second instance of similar international cooperation in wildlife conservation, following the transfer of another Nile crocodile to Dinder National Park in 2021.
