Ammon News - Jordanian national squash team player Osama Batayneh won the gold medal in the U-19 category at the Turkiye Junior Squash Open, held in Istanbul.
Batayneh won the title after recording five consecutive victories. He opened his campaign with a 3-0 victory over Iran’s Masiha Zandieh, then defeated Turkiye’s Furuh Dinger by the same score.
He completed the group stage with a 3-0 win over Turkiye’s Yigit Sargin.
In the semifinal, Batayneh defeated the UAE’s Haider Yamin 3-0 to reach the final.
He then beat the UAE’s Rohan Roy 3-1 in the final to claim the gold medal and the U-19 Turkiye Junior Squash Open title.
