Ammon News - AMMAN An Abu Dhabi contractor said it has won a $93 million contract to build a hotel tower that once completed will be the tallest building in Jordan.

The Arabian Construction Co. clinched the multimillion-dollar deal to construct the Rotana Hotel Tower in downtown Amman, The Jordan Times said.

Maher Merehbi, the company's CEO, told al-Bawaba Web site he is pleased to have the opportunity to construct Jordan's tallest building. The company has built many high rise buildings across the Middle East, including the United Arab Emirates, Lebanon and Qatar, he said.

Once completed in 2013, the tower will house a five star hotel with underground parking for 180 cars, and will have 425 rooms spread over fifty floors, a gym, spa, pool deck and a number of restaurants, the newspaper said.

The tower located in Amman's Abdali district is part of a $5 billion project for the development of business, leisure and residential areas, the paper said. (UPI)
